Onto the “Gibb River road”, Via Darby, we will explore the magnificent gorges of this area including a visit to Windjina Gorge,Tunnel Creek, Manning Gorge and Galvans Gorge.
We will be driving in a remote part of Australia you will not believe is ours, the King Leopold Ranges are some of the oldest exposed rocks in the world, and truly make for spectacular viewing.
Continuing along the Gibb River road, with a better understanding of this area. We cross the Pentecost River and on to El Questro with time to explore the scenic gorges and relax in the thermal hot springs.
Making our way to Kununurra, we will visit Emma Gorge and Wyndham. Continuing along the Ord river to Parry’s lagoon (great place for birding and a chance for a croc spotting) then into Kununurra to experience its attractions and onto Lake Argyle.
Leaving Kununurra, travelling between the King Leopold Range and the Carr Boyd Range with spectacular scenery, to World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park where we will enjoy short walks while camping inside the National Park. Some may choose to take an optional helicopter flight over this natural wonder.
Once we leave Purnululu, we visit Halls creek, on route for Fitzroy Crossing on the Fitzroy River, a complementary afternoon cruise of Geikie Gorge will keep you wanting more, we make camp for the night at Fitzroy River Lodge.
We will head to Broome for a well-earned rest and a couple of days in paradise. We will make you feel at home here and ensure you get to know your way around.
